Why use browser-based PDF tools?
For everyday file operations, a modern browser can read and rewrite PDF files directly on your device. That reduces the need to upload private documents to an application server just to perform simple tasks such as removing metadata, extracting pages or rotating a scan.
Browser performance still has practical limits, especially with very large files, scanned documents and high-resolution PDF-to-image conversion. BeOutMeta therefore focuses on transparent tools and recommends desktop software for very large or highly sensitive workflows.
PDF metadata is only one layer of privacy
Cleaning title, author, creator, producer, XMP and document identifiers can reduce accidental information disclosure, but visible page content, annotations, attachments, comments and form data may still contain personal information. Always inspect the final document before sharing it.
About BeOutMeta PDF tools
Are the PDF tools free?
Yes. The current BeOutMeta PDF tools are free to use and do not require an account.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
The core processing for supported PDF tools is designed to happen in the browser. Some JavaScript libraries are loaded from third-party CDNs, but the document itself is not sent to an application backend for the core operation.
Can I use these tools for confidential legal or medical documents?
For highly sensitive material, use an organization-approved sanitization and redaction workflow. Browser tools are convenient utilities, not a forensic guarantee.
